Summary/Objective

Ensure inspection gages are calibrated and issued to the appropriate job to ensure parts are being inspected according to the Customer requirements. Control and calibration of precision measuring gages. Maintain gage records per Huron's documented Quality system.

About the Role

Essential functions in the role include:

  • Calibration of all precision measuring equipment
  • Maintain gage file updates including check in / check out, calibration data and current gage locations
  • Issue gages for machine set up for production use
  • Receive gages returned from production, calibrate and return to proper storage per the Quality Lab Manual
  • Schedule and complete paperwork for calibrations done by outside suppliers
  • Perform calibrations according to weekly requirements
  • Perform cleanliness testing as required
  • Support and operate within Huron's documented Quality and Environmental systems
  • Perform various other lab tasks as needed

 

Key Qualifications

  • 2+ years of equivalent work experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Gage Trak software preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong Microsoft office skills
  • Strong data analysis skills
  • Strong teamwork and time management skills

Technical Qualifications

  • Critical thinking. Can evaluate information objectively and make reasoned judgments.
  • Data analysis. Can interpret data, identify trends, and make sense of complex information
  • Working knowledge of GD&T
  • Experience in inspection layout, gage use and calibration
  • Experience working with measurement devices

Physical demands:

  • Ability to work extended hours as needed
  • Some heavy lifting (50+ lbs.) required

Travel required: <5%
