 The Opportunity
Assists in installs, removes, maintains, tests, calibrate, repairs, measuring and regulating stations, buildings, gas heater installations and related measurement instruments.
**This position is represented by the USW Union #573 and filling of this position is subject to the terms and conditions of the governing Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)
What you'll do
- Assists in installing, removing, maintaining, testing, calibrating and repairing equipment by performance of such duties as: assists in calibrating and maintaining runways, orifice plates, differential and pressure elements, displacement and rotary meters, recording gauges, recording gravitometer, recording thermometer, chart drives, differential limit controllers and meter run shut-off valves; assists in the maintenance and repair of various type regulators and indirect fired heaters; uses various hand tools such as: electric drills and grinders
- Operates portable ranarex, changing gas sample bottles, performs leak test of measuring and regulating facilities by use of explosimeter
- Assists in installing and removing regulating and measuring stations, buildings, gas heaters, telemetering, remote control and related instruments; on occasion “shuts-in” or “turns-on” wells during testing or maintenance operations; blows meter drips and removes freezes from meter runs, gauge lines, manifolds and regularly paints measuring and regulating facilities and buildings.
- Uses various mowers and weed eaters to keep facility maintained
- Responsible for appropriate assigned duties for completion of work orders utilizing computerized maintenance system program.
- Adhere to environmental policies by collecting samples, following appropriate reporting procedures and associated clean-up of any spills.
- Uses computer for various tasks including but not limited to, time entry, e-mail, intranet, etc.
- Knowledgeable of appropriate health and safety training in order to follow appropriate safety standards.
- Assists in planning of work and participates as necessary in safety and/or team meetings and discussions.
- Assist in the installation of chromatograph and electronic measurement.
- Must be able to identify atmospheric corrosion inspection
SELECTION CRITERIA:
- Has successfully passed basic aptitude evaluation consisting of reading, high school level math and mechanical aptitude.
- Must be willing to attend measurement “boot camp.”
- Basic Computer skills required
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Subject to call-out and overtime. Some travel to other facilities for training and necessary maintenance. Exposure to extreme weather conditions. Undergoes evaluation for DIM A level at not less than 6 months. Reevaluation at 6 months from the date of the first evaluation will be offered to employees who are not successful on the first evaluation.  Promotion to DIM A will be awarded upon completion of the required skill and Operator Qualifications required to preform DIM A level work.
