Job DetailsJob Location: Lewisburg, TN 37091Mercy Community Healthcare has an opening for an Obstetric Nurse Practitioner. We are looking for enthusiastic people with a passion for making a difference in the lives of those we serve in our community. This position provides comprehensive outpatient prenatal care through both the Mobile Health Unit and the Lewisburg clinic. The NP will provide routine prenatal assessments, patient education, screening, and first-trimester obstetric ultrasound in the mobile unit. Third-trimester prenatal care will primarily be provided at the Lewisburg clinic. The organization does not provide labor and delivery services. The NP will coordinate timely referral and transition of patients to established obstetric providers and hospitals for delivery and higher-risk obstetric care. Patients requiring delivery services, high-risk obstetric management, or care beyond the scope of the program will be appropriately referred or transferred to an obstetric provider or hospital. We provide care to the uninsured, underinsured and insured through pediatric and adult primary care, mental and behavioral health services, and care coordination. Essential Responsibilities: Provide routine prenatal care, including initial and follow-up prenatal visits. Obtain medical and obstetric histories and perform maternal and fetal assessments. Order, review, and follow up on appropriate prenatal laboratory testing and screening. Perform first-trimester obstetric ultrasound within approved training, competency, and credentialing. Identify high-risk pregnancies and promptly consult with or refer to the OB Medical Director, obstetrician, maternal-fetal medicine specialist, or hospital as appropriate. Provide prenatal education regarding nutrition, medications, warning signs, breastfeeding, childbirth preparation, and postpartum care. Provide prenatal services in the Mobile Health Unit at designated community locations. Provide clinic-based prenatal care at the Lewisburg location, including third-trimester visits. Ensure patients have an established obstetric provider and hospital for labor and delivery. Coordinate transfer of prenatal records and continuity of care with receiving OB providers. Recognize obstetric emergencies and arrange appropriate emergency evaluation or transfer. Provide postpartum follow-up within the organization’s established scope of services. Maintain timely and accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Participate in prenatal-care quality improvement and clinical care coordination activities. QualificationsQualifications Current Tennessee APRN licensure and appropriate national board certification. Graduate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Experience providing prenatal and women’s health care. Training and demonstrated competency in first-trimester/limited obstetric ultrasound required before independent ultrasound practice. Current BLS certification. Ability to work effectively in both mobile and clinic-based healthcare environments. Experience working with underserved populations, community health centers, or FQHCs preferred.
