Furnace Plater Trainee - 3rd shift (Sunday-Thursday, 11:00pm-7:30am)

$18.00 per hour + $3.00 shift differential for 3rd shift

80 Hours Holiday Pay + Generous PTO + Quarterly Bonuses

Overtime available -- not mandatory 

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and load medical and dental components for furnace plating operations per approved work instructions and traveler documentation.
  • Operate vacuum, inert gas, or controlled-atmosphere furnaces used in the metallization, brazing, or nickel plating of superabrasive (diamond, CBN) parts.
  • Control and monitor process parameters including temperature, atmosphere composition, ramp rates, and soak durations using automated control systems.
  • Maintain plating materials and furnace consumables according to lot traceability and expiration requirements.
  • Verify part condition before and after furnace processing; inspect for coating uniformity, bond strength indicators, and visual surface quality.
  • Document all process data, including batch traceability, temperature charts, and process deviations, in compliance with ISO and GMP recordkeeping standards.
  • Conduct basic furnace maintenance, calibration checks, and leak detection per preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Support process validation activities and assist engineering in qualifying new plating parameters or equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to cleanroom or controlled manufacturing area protocols to prevent contamination of medical products.
  • Follow all EHS procedures for chemical handling, thermal operations, and PPE use.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining a neat and orderly workplace.
  • Take initiative and demonstrate internal drive for results.
  • Prioritize and determine the appropriate order of tasks according to relative importance.
  • Comprehend and successfully follow documented procedures.
  • Follow all company safety policies and practices.
  • Ability to work overtime, sometimes on short notice.

What You’ll Bring:

  • No prior electroplating experience required — training provided.
  • Experience in manufacturing or metal finishing is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

The Physical Side:

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds consistently.
  • Stand and sit throughout the workday as needed.
  • Comfortable working around chemicals and using appropriate PPE.
