Working alongside Construction Managers, QA/QC Managers, Superintendents, mechanical subcontractors, commissioning teams, and client representatives, you'll help ensure mechanical installations are completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and project quality standards.

Ā

You'll support field inspections, quality documentation, deficiency tracking, testing, commissioning readiness, and project turnover for critical mechanical systems and equipment. This role provides an opportunity to develop both technical and construction management expertise while working on some of the industry's most complex mission-critical facilities.

Ā

This position is ideal for an organized, technically minded construction professional who understands mechanical systems, enjoys working in the field, and is interested in building a career in construction quality management.

Ā

What You'll Do:

  • Support QA/QC Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents with day-to-day quality activities for mechanical construction.
  • Perform and document field inspections of mechanical installations to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, submittals, manufacturer requirements, applicable codes, and project quality standards.
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, and installation requirements to support field quality activities.
  • Support quality oversight for mechanical systems and equipment, including HVAC, piping, hydronic systems, plumbing, pumps, air-handling equipment, cooling systems, and associated components.
  • Assist with Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), inspection checklists, quality reports, deficiency logs, punch lists, and turnover documentation.
  • Identify and document installation deficiencies and nonconforming work and coordinate with project teams and subcontractors to track corrective actions through resolution.
  • Coordinate inspections, testing, and quality activities with mechanical subcontractors, third-party inspectors, commissioning teams, and client representatives.
  • Verify equipment and material installations against approved submittals, manufacturer requirements, and project documentation.
  • Track mechanical equipment, inspections, testing activities, deficiencies, and documentation to support project milestones and commissioning readiness.
  • Support pressure testing, flushing, equipment startup, functional testing, and other mechanical testing and verification activities as required by the project.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Controls, Commissioning, and other project teams to support mechanical system interfaces and readiness.
  • Assist with punch-list completion, commissioning activities, project closeout, turnover documentation, and owner handover.
  • Utilize Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and other project platforms to maintain accurate quality records and reporting.

Ā

What We're Looking For:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Three or more years of experience supporting mechanical construction, quality control, field engineering, project engineering, or commercial/industrial construction.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, submittals, and technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting field inspections, construction documentation, testing, deficiency tracking, or corrective actions.
  • Understanding of construction quality processes and the relationship between installation, testing, commissioning, and turnover.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors, field teams, project leadership, and other technical disciplines.
  • Strong organizational, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with construction management software such as Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud (BIM 360), or Bluebeam.

Ā

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting hyperscale data center, mission-critical, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, industrial, or other technically complex construction projects.
  • Experience with HVAC, hydronic piping, plumbing, cooling systems, pumps, air-handling equipment, or other mechanical infrastructure.
  • Experience performing or supporting mechanical QA/QC inspections and documentation.
  • Familiarity with mechanical testing, equipment startup, commissioning, and phased system turnover.
  • Familiarity with applicable mechanical codes and standards, including ASHRAE, NFPA, IMC, IPC, and SMACNA requirements.
