Summary


CHS has an exciting opportunity at our Pipeline and Terminal facility in Laurel, MT. We are hiring for a Union Relief Dispatcher-Controller who will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of pipeline systems from the Laurel Control Room. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, results-driven professional with a strong commitment to safety and accuracy. You must have the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet deadlines, effectively manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, and maintain a high level of operational awareness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work both collaboratively in a team environment and independently on self-directed tasks.

Compensation Data

Salary $57.15/hr.

This is a union role. Wages are based on the collective bargaining agreement 

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor pipeline systems and related facilities via SCADA control, in accordance with specific procedures.
  • Monitor tank levels, meter readings, pressures, temperatures, product batches etc. at stations and other pipeline points. 
  • Calculate the quantities transported and the resulting inventories at various locations.
  • Calculate amount of product received, delivered, or held in storage.
  • Analyze tank levels, meter readings, pressure, temperature devices and leak detection system for indications of loss of product, loss of pumping efficiency or other irregularities in the pipeline operation.
  • Complete all required forms and documentation in an organized and timely manner.
  • Perform complete and high-quality shift handovers.
  • In the event of an emergency, taking such action as is justified to minimize loss of product or property damage.
  • Receive, document and respond appropriately to incoming phone calls.
  • Work variable rotating shift assignments 12 hours in length.
  • Must become Operator Qualified and maintain proficiency through training.
  • Proficient with Windows based programs (Microsoft Office).
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the Pipelines and Hazardous Material Safety Administrations (PHMSA) regulations and standards.
  • Critical in maintaining integrity and safety of pipeline operations, requiring understanding of control room management practices as prescribed by PHMSA.

Demonstrate proficiency in regulatory compliance, to safeguard the operational excellence and environmental safety of our facilities.

Minimum Qualifications (required)

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 4 plus years practical experience related to pipeline field and/or oil and gas industry.
  • Successful completion of the COBRA testing process.
