Job DetailsJob Location: ALM-Laurel Ms Family Store - Laurel, MS 39440Salary Range: $13.50 - $13.50 HourlyJob Category: StoreThis position is responsible for : Drives Salvation Army truck along scheduled route to pick-up donations and/or deliver merchandise to customers; operates the truck in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and state driving regulations; lifts, carries, loads and unloads variety of donations including furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.; ensures the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times; assists in performing work in the thrift store and warehouse.   Key Responsibilities:   Truck Driver Duties (75%)   Confers regularly with the Dispatcher to maintain awareness of scheduled pick-ups of donations in accordance with the established policy. Reviews scheduled pick-ups to ensure they are scheduled for the correct day of the week and geographical location. Organizes scheduled pick-ups by most direct routes to save time and fuel consumption. Assists Truck Helper in lifting and stacking donations in the truck. Prepares donation receipts for customers; ensures the accuracy and completeness of the same. Custodian Duties (25%) Cleans and sanitizes bathrooms; cleans sinks and toilets, polishes mirrors, and replenishes supplies. Sweeps, vacuums and mops floors. Cleans windows. Dusts and polishes furniture. Cleans kitchen and dining area; washes dishes; cleans and defrosts refrigerator; cleans stoves and ovens. Stocks and sorts pantry items. Empties trash cans regularly; collects trash from grounds. Assists in setting up meeting rooms; sets up tables and chairs; puts ice in glasses and sets out drinks. Assists in monitoring light fixtures to ensure all light bulbs are in working order; replaces light bulbs as necessary. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:  Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand-written directions.    Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to drive a heavy-duty truck. Ability to use cleaning materials and chemicals. Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
