Construction Laborer / Apprentice
Valley Gates is seeking a dependable, hardworking Construction Laborer / Apprentice to join our team. This is a hands-on, physically demanding position for someone who is willing to learn, follow direction, and work as part of a team.
Job Duties
This position involves a variety of construction and general labor duties, including:
- Assist technicians and experienced crew members with gate installation, repair, and related construction work
- Perform general construction labor, including heavy lifting, digging, trenching, concrete work and physical labor
- Follow instructions from technicians, foremen, and senior crew members
- Learn proper construction techniques, safety procedures, and trade skills
- Perform basic troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Use basic hand and power tools safely and properly
- Assist with basic automotive, equipment, and shop maintenance
- Work outdoors year-round in Las Vegas heat, cold, and varying weather conditions
Requirements
Applicants must:
- Have a valid driver's license and provide a clean Driver History Report
- Be able to pass a drug screening and background check
- Have reliable transportation to and from work
- Be able to lift 50+ lbs. and perform physically demanding work for extended periods
- Be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, dig, and work outdoors throughout the workday
- Have their own basic hand tools and steel-toe work boots
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Be dependable, punctual, and able to follow detailed instructions
- Communicate effectively and work well as part of a team
- Have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Be willing and able to work overtime and participate in weekend/on-call rotations as needed
Work Schedule
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on workload and scheduling.

About the Position
This is an apprentice-level position with the opportunity to learn the gate and access-control industry while gaining hands-on experience in construction, mechanical work, and equipment installation.
We are looking for someone who wants to learn a skilled trade, takes direction well, shows up ready to work, and is interested in developing their skills over time.
