Classification: Non-Exempt | Hourly Compensation: $26.00 – $28.00 / hour Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
About the Role
We're looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Clerk with 1–3 years of experience to join our team. In this role, you'll support the accurate and timely processing of employee pay, commission calculations, and payroll-related recordkeeping.

What You'll Do
- Process bi-weekly/semi-monthly payroll for hourly and salaried employees
- Enter and verify timekeeping data, including hours worked, overtime, and Vacation
- Calculating and process deductions (taxes, benefits, garnishments, retirement contributions)
- Reconcile payroll discrepancies and resolve employee pay inquiries
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files in compliance with company policy
- Assist with processing new hires, terminations, and status changes in the payroll system
- Support preparation of payroll reports for management and accounting
- Assist with year-end processes, including W-2 preparation
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll data

- Payroll is processed accurately and on time every cycle
- Discrepancies are identified quickly and resolved with minimal disruption to employees
- Payroll records and employee files are complete, accurate, and audit-ready
- Federal, state, and local payroll compliance is consistently maintained
- Employee and payroll data is always handled with discretion and confidentiality
Qualifications
Required
- 1–3 years of payroll or related accounting experience
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in accounting, Business, or related field preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of basic payroll tax and wage/hour regulations
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Preferred
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Heartland, or similar)
- FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or working toward certification
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing
- Familiarity with HRIS systems
