We are seeking an experienced IT Helpdesk Administrator to join our onsite IT team. The ideal candidate has a strong background in technical support and is comfortable managing a diverse workload of support requests in an enterprise environment. This role is heavily focused on troubleshooting and resolving helpdesk tickets while providing exceptional support to employees throughout the organization. Objectives and Responsibilities

Customer service is our top priority. Our job in IT is to empower all employees to perform their jobs at the highest level possible, all the way from the fab shop to the CEO’s office. Good customer service includes great teamwork, effective communication, and strong determination to solve problems. Here are some of the top responsibilities for this position. This is not meant to be a complete list

  • Proactively monitor and manage the helpdesk ticket queue, taking ownership of support requests and ensuring timely resolution
  • Investigate complex technical problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions while maintaining clear communication with end users throughout the support process.
  • Escalate issues when appropriate and collaborate with EMCOR IT, vendors, and internal stakeholders to drive timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and procedures to improve knowledge sharing and operational efficiency.
  • Create, modify, and terminate user accounts in Active Directory and other business systems.


Supervisory /Budgetary / External communications responsibility

  • This is an individual contribution role.  The incumbent will be responsible for communicating with internal employees as well as third party companies and the IT team at EMCOR.


Knowledge, skill and ability requirements (competencies required for job performance)


  • Experience troubleshooting a wide variety of issues in Windows 11
  • Experience troubleshooting a wide variety of hardware-related issues (PC, A/V system, iPhone/iPad printer, etc.)
  • Experience with Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC)
  • Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of network issues (Wi-Fi/Ethernet connection issues, slow speeds, VPN issues, etc.)
  • Experience with Cisco Meraki products
  • Experience with iOS/iPadOS
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong task prioritization and workload management skills
  • Experience working on Windows Server is a plus, but it not a big part of this job

 

Prior work experience and educational requirements

 

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • College degree in Information Technology or similar (Not required, but is a plus)
  • At least 3 years of experience in a prior helpdesk role (Required)
  • Prior experience at a managed service provider (MSP) is a huge plus

 

 

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands are those associated with working in a typical office environment and miscellaneous filed travel.
