Job DetailsJob Location: LaVergne, TN - La Vergne, TN 37086Education Level: High SchoolTravel Percentage: NoneJob Shift: DayManufacturing Production Supervisor-1st shift Anchor Fabrication, La Vergne, TN Anchor Fabrication, the third largest metal fabrication company in the United States, located in La Vergne, TN is seeking an exempt salary Production Supervisor to join our team. This position is responsible to supervise, plan and assign work for their team members, recommend improvements in methods, equipment and operating procedures. Supervises and coordinates activities to reach company performance goals while monitoring safety, quality, cost and delivery. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include but are not limited to the following, other duties may be applied; Physical Requirements With or Without Accommodation Maintains a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing team members on the use of all control points, equipment and maintaining 5S standards Detects through observation of unsafe work practices and creates procedures to eliminate risk Ensure team members have the necessary equipment, tools, material and appropriate safety equipment Investigates all accidents and property, equipment and material damage claims within the department Submits proper documentation in a timely manner for all incident claims Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identifying solutions and recommend action or solution to human resources and/or Monitors and appraises team members’ performance and job results Monitors performance to insure acceptable levels of quality and output Coaches, counsels and disciplines team members when needed by initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures Maintains level of efficiency within department Develops employees and maximizes performance potential Reviews records to identify low performance Schedules team members to attend training classes/programs to correct or improve knowledge and skill-related deficiencies Schedules team members to attends training classes and/or conducts training classes Schedules daily work assignments by completing a production plan and assigning team members to accomplish work results Establishes priorities, monitor progress, revises schedules, resolves problems, reports results of the process flow Implements cost reductions, develop reporting procedures and systems, facilitates corrections to malfunction within process control points, initiates and fosters a spirit of cooperation within and between departments Ensures operation of equipment is in working conditions and inspects the equipment to ensure safe working conditions Submits maintenance work orders when equipment needs repair Evaluates new equipment and techniques before equipment is turned over to production Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data Answer questions and respond to requests All departmental supervision responsibilities Coordinate work activities with related work groups Establishes and maintains records and reporting systems Review employee time and attendance Maintains open communications with employees concerning production, overtime, events, safety, other information as needed Has the Authority and Responsibility to report non-conformity product. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE A bachelor's degree in business, engineering or closely related field from an accredited college or university a plus Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience in a manufacturing environment. Metal fabrication, brake press ,soft tool knowledge a plus. Good communication, reasoning, interpersonal skills, motivation and the knowledge of manufacturing operations a must.
