About the role

Job Summary
The Senior Product Quality Control Inspector ensures that product quality specifications comply with corporate and customer standards. This role supports the implementation of QA/QC policies and oversees product assessments and vendor evaluations.
This job profile is intended for support-level staff that generally works autonomously and only requires closer supervision in non-routine situations.

Reports to:        Manufacturing Drafting / QC Manager

 

Shift: Day Shift and Occasional Weekends

 

Company Overview:

Sulzer Turbo Services (STS) is an independent provider of services and repairs of critical turbomachinery.  We specialize in the repair, overhaul, and replacement of parts for high-speed rotating equipment such as steam and gas turbines, compressors, expanders, and other industrial rotating equipment found primarily in the Oil & Gas, Pipeline, Petrochemical, Ammonia, Nitric Acid, Fertilizer and Power Generation markets.

Position Summary

Provide inspection support to the quality control department

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting new parts with a wide range of metrology equipment (Micrometers, CMM, ATOS blue light scanning, ect.)
  • Operating quality control hardware and software programs.
  • Evaluating inspection results per manufacturing/repair drawings.
  • Returning rejected parts to appropriate shop members.
  • Providing feedback to improve department processes.
  • Support the drafting department with instructions as needed.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Have exposure to precision hand tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, depth gauges, etc.)
  • Have been exposed to, or willing to learn digital equipment like CMM
  • Make logical decisions and provide inspection feedback to the machinists
  • Be proactive and solution oriented
  • Be familiar with CAD and component drawings
  • Be familiar with GDT per ASME Y14.5M-2009.
  • Have clear communication, both written and oral.
  • Be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
