Terms of Employment: 12-month position

Salary Scale: EACC Scale A2-IS

Education and Work Experience
•    Master’s degree in appropriate field.    
•    Advanced Professional Certificate with endorsement in Special Education or Dual Certification strongly preferred.
•    Minimum of five years of successful teaching experience with students with disabilities.

Qualifications
•    Demonstrates expertise in co-teaching, differentiation, and Response to Intervention (RTI).
•    Strong knowledge of special education compliance, including IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring.
•    Proven leadership skills, including staff mentoring, leading collaborative teams, and effective stakeholder communication.
•    Experience in planning and delivering professional development aligned with instructional best practices and district initiatives.
•    Demonstrates ability to analyze student data and guide instructional decisions to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.

Essential Job Functions
•    Coordinate and oversee special education services at the school level, ensuring compliance, instructional quality, and alignment with student needs.
•    Design and deliver professional development and instructional coaching on IEP development, instructional strategies, and progress monitoring.
•    Provide targeted instructional support for students with disabilities, including direct services and consultation on curriculum and accommodations.
•    Maintain regular communication with families and stakeholders to support transparency and engagement in special education services.
•    Participate in district-level meetings, trainings, and improvement efforts to align school-based practices with system-wide goals.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The environmental factors and/or physical requirements of this position include the following: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard. The employee is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
