Benefits: Full-time, seasonal position eligible for a season pass for employee/dependents and privileges at several other resorts. Job Summary: This winter seasonal position focuses on road and parking lot maintenance with our fleet of heavy plow vehicles (CDL-B) and equipment. Other duties include but are not limited to general maintenance under fleet mechanic’s supervision and team supporting other departments with snow removal, hauling and equipment needs. Summary of Key Responsibilities: Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following: Inspect equipment at the start and finish of each shift to ensure it is in proper working order to minimize equipment downtime Operate heavy duty trucks (>26,000 GWV) or medium-duty trucks (<26,000 GVW) safely and efficiently while performing snow removal operations Perform other tasks, as assigned, related to the maintenance of roads and parking lots. Perform assigned road and equipment maintenance under the direction of Supervisor, Mechanic or Manager. Operate a range of heavy machinery including loaders and skid steers Perform regular equipment maintenance tasks. Check fluid levels, bolts, belts, tires, daily machine walk around, etc. Prepare daily driver's logs and/or reports on maintenance activities Follow all company safety policies and procedures; work in a safe manner at all times Maintain good working relationships and communicate work instructions with co-workers Change equipment implements as necessary during the shift Communicate any mechanical problems to Road Maintenance Mechanic and Supervisor Always provide superior service to our customers (internal and external) Follow Resort Etiquette Guidelines while interacting with guests and other employees Perform other tasks as assigned, including Team Support to other Departments on occasion. QualificationsBasic Qualifications: High school education or equivalent Valid US CDL-B (minimum) driver’s license with clean driving record Pre-employment drug & alcohol screening, including FMCSA CDL Clearinghouse profile Medical Card valid through duration of employment Must be at least 18 years of age Ability to sit for extended periods of time while operating heavy equipment Ability to lift 80 pounds Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Willing to work 10-hour shifts or overtime when essential or in case of emergencies Ability to read and write in English and understand basic map and planning documents Experience operating heavy plow and sanding vehicles with plow and wing; wheeled loader with bucket or snow box Presentable appearance and ability to speak with vendors, guests, and other employees effectively. Ability to work in both hot and cold environments Keen attention to safety Ability to operate equipment safely Strong verbal communication skills Must have reliable transportation, as schedule does not match public transportation Must be flexible with times, depending on business, events, deliveries, etc. Ability to work effectively with staff in multiple locations Must lead by example (punctual, good listener, communicates effectively, friendly, hard worker) 1+ years of experience in snow removal and heavy equipment operation Compliance with Killington Resort’s Road Maintenance Policies Compliance with CDL Driver/Killington Drug & Alcohol Testing Policy Actively prioritize safety in comply with all VOSHA regulations and Killington policies Strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge and skills Good communication skills via two-way radio required Strong advocate for safety and ability to work around others while operating heavy equipment Capacity to follow instructions and collaborate with others towards a common goal Basic understanding of resort operations Basic understanding of road and stormwater systems design, maintenance and snow removal Ability to work in extreme weather conditions (cold, heat, snow, wind, rain) for sustained periods It is the policy of Killington/Pico Ski Resort Partners, LLC to provide equal opportunity and employment to all staff and applicants.
