Summary: Â
The Control Valve Technician II role involves advanced responsibilities such as following Quality Standardization Procedures for valve repair, utilizing Safety Data Sheets (SDS) to identify contaminated valves, and recognizing missing parts. This position requires proficiency in valve repair according to company standards, , and operating various shop equipment including test stands, disassembly and assembly tools. Additionally, the role includes readiness for manufacturer training and the ability to mentor junior technicians.Â
Responsibilities:Â
- All additional job responsibilities of a Control Valve Technician IÂ
- Locate, use, and comprehend manufacturer installation and operation manualsÂ
- Perform inspection to identify necessary corrective action as authorizedÂ
- Perform PMIÂ
- Assemble, test, and troubleshoot valves and other equipment per applicable codes and standards per manufacturer and/or customer requirementsÂ
- Install instrumentation/accessories as necessaryÂ
- Operate diagnostic equipment (i.e. Valscope, profiler, etc.)Â
- Verify calibration of measurement equipment in accordance with internal quality proceduresÂ
- Measure and record critical dimensions per manufacturer specificationsÂ
- Support Control Valve Technician I employees through mentoring and/or on-the-job trainingÂ
- May act in a leadership role for assigned areaÂ

Positional Requirements & Qualifications:Â
Education & Experience: Â
- HS Education or GED Equivalent a plusÂ
- 2 - 5 years of industry experienceÂ
Skills & AbilitiesÂ
- Meets all Control Valve Technician I qualifications and requirementsÂ
- Proficient in Control Valve Technician I responsibilitiesÂ
- Completed CV Level II certificationÂ
- Completed QC assessmentÂ
- Successful completion of all applicable Quality Standardization ProceduresÂ
- Successful completion of Control Valve Level II Written and Performance TestsÂ
- Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC, only if required)Â
- Demonstrate the ability to properly assemble and test valves/equipment of multiple control valve manufacturersÂ
- Demonstrate proficient use of precision dimensional equipment (i.e. dial caliper, micrometer, etc.)Â
- Demonstrate ability to bend and fit tubingÂ
- Completed inspection assessmentÂ
- Completed certification training for use of Positive Material Identification (PMI) equipmentÂ
- Completed diagnostic equipment training and/or certificationÂ
- Demonstrate proficiency at pneumatic and digital positioner calibrationÂ
- Effective oral & written communication skillsÂ
- Demonstrated “can do” attitude and excellent customer service skillsÂ
- Minimal supervision requiredÂ
- Must be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelinesÂ
- Clear background check and drug/alcohol screeningÂ
