Overview
The Lease Operator responsible for the safe and efficient operation of oil and gas wells and production equipment. The Lease Operator monitors well performance, maintains production, troubleshoots equipment issues, and makes adjustments to maximize production while following all safety and operating procedures.
Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor oil and gas wells, including gas lift and ESP wells.
- Monitor and operate three-phase separators, gas compressors, pipelines, and control systems.
- Perform daily field rounds, take readings, and monitor well and equipment performance.
- Make operational adjustments to maximize production and minimize downtime.
- Perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on valves, pumps, compressors, and rotating equipment.
- Assist maintenance and other field personnel as needed.
- Issue work permits, follow procedures, and initiate work requests.
- Monitor and adjust chemical injection/pump rates, including corrosion, paraffin, and soap treatment.
- Work with Engineering and support groups to gather production and well data.
- Track compression and production data.
- Perform fluid-level testing using an Echo Meter.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of Lease Operator, Pumper, Production Operator, or closely related Oil & Gas field experience.
- Experience operating and troubleshooting oil and gas wells and production equipment.
- Experience with gas lift, ESPs, three-phase separation, gas compression, and pipeline operations preferred.
- Knowledge of pumps, valves, compressors, and rotating equipment.
- Experience with well monitoring, production optimization, chemical injection, and fluid levels preferred.
- Ability to troubleshoot routine operational issues and make basic operating decisions.
- Working knowledge of Oil & Gas field procedures, terminology, and safe work practices.
