Job Summary

Under the direction of the Automation Engineer Assistant Manager, coordinates and oversees caster machine operations within an assigned production area. Maintains equipment and materials to ensure safe, efficient production and quality parts that meet specifications. Supervises, trains, and delegates tasks to caster machine personnel.

  • Follow and enforce company policies, procedures, SOPs, safety practices, and 5S standards.
  • Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair caster machines and ergonomic equipment to maximize production uptime.
  • Perform machine start-ups, shutdowns, setups, and adjustments according to the production schedule.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure production and quality standards are met.
  • Communicate effectively with management, maintenance, production personnel, and other shifts to ensure smooth operations and handoffs.
  • Identify major equipment issues and communicate repair needs to appropriate personnel.
  • Supervise, train, and delegate responsibilities to caster machine personnel.
  • Assist with assembling boxes, pallets, labels, and other materials for finished goods.
  • Stack and load finished products onto pallets.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Read and follow the company production schedule.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • 1–2 years of hands-on manufacturing or injection molding experience.
    • At least 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
    • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
    • Ability to follow procedures, troubleshoot equipment, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Frequent standing, walking, and verbal/written communication.
    • Ability to lift or move up to 50 lbs. occasionally, 25 lbs. frequently, and 10 lbs. continuously.
    • Ability to respond quickly around moving machinery and mechanical equipment.
    • Requires adequate close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Work Environment
    • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, plastic odors, oils and lubricants, moderate noise, and varying seasonal temperatures.
    • Requires adherence to all workplace safety procedures and use of appropriate protective equipment.
