Where You’ll Work

Established by the Sisters of the St. Francis in 1924, CHI Health Good Samaritan is a 268-bed regional referral center in Kearney, Neb. At CHI Health Good Samaritan, you’ll find an advanced level trauma center that also offers AirCare emergency helicopter transport and an ambulance program providing long distance and local 911 service. Among our many other services are cardiac care including open-heart surgery, a level II neonatal intensive care unit, a nationally accredited cancer center, comprehensive neurosurgery, advanced orthopedic program, and inpatient and outpatient mental health services at our free-standing Richard Young Behavioral Health facility.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Foundation Development Associate, you will be responsible for maximizing philanthropic opportunities by engaging with major philanthropists. Your strong knowledge of development-based fundraising will be used to reach out and meet with prospects and investors in the local community. You will manage a portfolio of prospects and donors generating fundraising results from your conversations. Every day, you will serve as a crucial liaison to numerous entities (i.e., hospitals, hospice, research institutes), identifying key stakeholders, building essential relationships, and fostering a robust two-way flow of information. This ensures alignment of objectives and maximizes collaborative opportunities that advance our mission.To be successful in this role, you must have strong knowledge of philanthropic concepts, modern fundraising principles and a strong understanding of the art and science of related relationship building . In addition, you must be able to demonstrate strong organization/communication skills as well as self-motivation and perseverance in achieving established goals.

  • Employee and Annual Giving campaigns – develop, manage and implement the employee and annual giving campaigns.
  • Works closely with manager in development and preparation of solicitation strategies; makes recommendations for long range and annual development plans to reach stated goals.
  • Oversees all annual giving initiatives, including direct mail campaigns to enhance donor acquisition, annual employee’s campaigns, and donor recognition wall. Recommends solicitation method, plans, and implements, evaluates and reports on activities. Participates in major gift campaigns as required.
  • Coordinates special events, SCRUBS and other similar fundraising events identified by the Foundation.
  • Responsible for communications for the Foundation, including updating website presence, social media content, newsletter creations, one page summaries etc.
  • Provides administrative support for campus events, including processing payments for sponsorships, tickets sales, entering payments into RE, preparing acknowledgement letters etc.
