Job DetailsLevel: ExperiencedJob Location: Cash-Wa Kearney - Kearney, NE 68845Job Shift: Day Shift (8am-5pm), Monday-FridayAccounting Credit & Tax Specialist   Cash-Wa Distributing is looking to add an accounting compliance clerk to the team. Our network delivers over 13,000 foodservice, c-store, candy, tobacco, and grocery products to restaurants, hotels, schools, convenient stores, institutions, and other retail outlets in a ten-state area from four warehousing facilities, two trucking fleets, and five cash-and-carry operations.   This position will be responsible for accurately processing transactions impacting multiple areas of our company. Timely multi-jurisdictional filing and reporting of various compliance functions is essential. Must be comfortable with processing and balancing high volumes of financial data daily. Speed, accuracy and professionalism are an absolute must.   Primary Department Functions/Duties: Tobacco Reporting and Sales & Use Tax (about 60% of role) Cigarette and Tobacco tax compliance. Filing monthly tax reporting in multiple jurisdictions in compliance with individual state’s excise tax laws. Maintain audit-ready documentation. Own state-level sales tax reporting/filing in multiple jurisdictions for three different divisions. Rebate processing (about 20% of role) Responsible for entering, reviewing, validating, and processing customer rebates in compliance with established programs. All other (about 20% of role) Daily cash position reporting for multiple bank accounts to facilitate formal monthly cash account reconciliations. Review and reconcile daily AR trade cash receipts/application reports to bank records. Reviewing and processing customer credit requests. Communicating with sales members to ensure proper authorization for vendor deductions is obtained for product integrity related issues. Expect additional reporting tasks assigned as directed.   Experience & Qualifications: High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree in related area preferred. Strong mathematical & analytical skills, attention to detail, & communication skills. Proficiency with accounting software & Microsoft Office Suite. Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or international Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). Experience preparing financial reports, balance sheets, & profit & loss (P&L) statements, ensuring accurate ledger entries, reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, & supporting less experienced colleagues.
