POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Human Resources Coordinator provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department and serves as an important resource for teammates throughout the C&C Produce facility. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this position supports key HR functions including onboarding, teammate records, HRIS administration, benefits, payroll coordination, recruiting, compliance, leave administration, training, and teammate engagement. The HR Coordinator is responsible for ensuring HR processes and records are completed accurately, timely, and consistently while providing a positive experience for both new and existing teammates. This position works closely with the Human Resources team, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, supervisors, and operational leaders to support the day-to-day needs of the business.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, approachable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced operational environment while handling confidential teammate information with professionalism and discretion.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department.
  • Serve as a first point of contact for routine teammate questions regarding HR processes, policies, benefits, payroll, timekeeping, PTO, and other HR-related matters.
  • Coordinate new-hire onboarding activities, including pre-employment requirements, new-hire documentation, orientation scheduling, and required training.
  • Facilitate or assist with new-hire orientation and ensure all required onboarding documentation is completed accurately and timely.
  • Enter, update, and maintain teammate information within the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), including new hires, transfers, promotions, pay changes, status changes, and terminations.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential teammate personnel files, medical files, I-9 documentation, and other required HR records.
  • Conduct routine audits of HRIS data and teammate records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Support employment eligibility verification and I-9 processes, including maintaining required documentation and assisting with periodic audits.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to support recruiting activities, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, pre-employment requirements, and hiring documentation.
  • Assist with job postings, recruiting events, job fairs, and other hiring initiatives as needed.
  • Support payroll processes by reviewing and submitting teammate changes, timekeeping information, PTO, incentives, deductions, and other payroll-related documentation.
  • Assist teammates with routine payroll and timekeeping questions and escalate discrepancies or complex issues as appropriate.
  • Provide administrative support for teammate benefits, including enrollment, qualifying life events, benefit changes, and open enrollment.
  • Assist teammates with general benefits questions and coordinate with HR leadership, Payroll, or benefit providers when additional support is needed.
  • Track and maintain documentation related to attendance, leaves of absence, FMLA, ADA accommodations, workers' compensation, and other teammate leave programs.
  • Assist with the coordination and documentation of teammate training and development activities.
  • Support performance management processes by maintaining documentation, tracking due dates, and assisting with the coordination of performance reviews.
  • Prepare HR correspondence, employment verification documents, reports, spreadsheets, and other HR-related documentation.
  • Assist HR leadership with teammate relations documentation, investigations, corrective actions, and other employee relations matters as directed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of teammate information, investigations, medical information, payroll data, and other sensitive HR records.
  • Support teammate engagement, recognition, appreciation, and company culture initiatives.
  • Assist with teammate meetings, events, communications, and HR-related activities.
  • Track HR metrics and prepare routine reports related to headcount, turnover, attendance, hiring, onboarding, and other workforce information.
  • Assist with HR audits, compliance reporting, record retention, and required documentation.
  • Partner with the broader GS Foods Group Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and Benefits teams to support company-wide initiatives and ensure consistent HR processes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve administrative processes, recordkeeping, communication, and the overall teammate experience.
  • Participate in HR projects and continuous improvement initiatives as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Knowledge of general Human Resources practices and administrative processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills with the ability to interact professionally with teammates and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive teammate information with integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize when issues should be escalated to HR leadership.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's payroll, HRIS, and talent management systems, including ADP Workforce Now (ADP WFN).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and complete detailed administrative tasks with minimal errors.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of the Human Resources team.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism when handling teammate questions, concerns, and sensitive situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing a positive teammate experience.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of Human Resources, administrative, payroll, recruiting, or related experience preferred.
  • Previous experience supporting HR within a distribution, warehouse, manufacturing, foodservice, transportation, or other high-volume operational environment preferred.
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now or a comparable HRIS/payroll system preferred.
  • Previous experience with onboarding, HRIS data entry, payroll/timekeeping, benefits, recruiting coordination, or teammate records preferred.
  • SHRM or other Human Resources certification is a plus but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position will be in an office setting at a desk equipped with computer, monitors, phone, and other applicable resources/equipment. This role will also require regular interaction with teammates and leaders throughout the facility, including operational, warehouse, and production areas. It will require the applicant to routinely sit, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend for up to 8 hours. Position requires the occasional lifting of objects up to 25 lbs.
