Job DetailsJob Location: Jupiter, FL 33478We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to support and promote our company's safety culture across multiple construction and utility job sites. This position is responsible for conducting field safety inspections, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, coordinating employee training, investigating incidents, and working closely with operations teams to maintain safe work environments. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a hands-on approach to problem solving, and a commitment to protecting employees, clients, and company assets. Key Responsibilities Conduct regular safety inspections of active job sites, shops, offices, vehicles, and equipment. Prepare and distribute detailed job site inspection reports with corrective action recommendations. Review daily trenching and excavation inspection documentation. Monitor work practices to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company policies, and industry best practices. Assist in maintaining a positive safety culture while consistently enforcing safety rules and procedures. Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and work with field leadership to implement corrective actions. Exercise stop-work authority when imminent safety hazards are identified. Investigate incidents, near misses, property damage events, and workplace injuries. Collect photographs, witness statements, and documentation necessary for incident reporting. Coordinate workers' compensation incident reporting with Human Resources. Administer drug and alcohol testing as required. Determine training needs and coordinate employee certifications, safety training, and compliance programs. Enforce permit requirements, including confined space entry procedures. Inspect and test gas monitoring equipment and other safety devices. Verify availability and condition of first aid kits and required safety supplies. Support traffic control and Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) operations, including setup and inspections. Participate in client safety meetings, project planning meetings, pre-construction meetings, and weekly scheduling meetings. Review upcoming work activities and identify potential safety concerns before work begins. Monitor excavation operations to ensure utility locating, potholing, and damage prevention requirements are followed. Assist with development and delivery of safety manuals and safety-related documentation. Prepare safety-related disciplinary documentation and corrective action records. Support loss prevention initiatives through equipment and asset inspections. QualificationsRequired 2+ years of construction, utility, industrial, or occupational safety experience. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to conduct field inspections and prepare detailed reports. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic reporting systems. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Preferred OSHA 30 Certification. CPR/First Aid certification. CHST, STS, STSC, ASP, CSP, or other safety-related certifications. Experience in underground utilities, excavation, trenching, traffic control, or heavy civil construction. Physical Requirements Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods. Ability to climb ladders, navigate uneven terrain, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
