About the role

As a Product Development and Implementation Lead, you will serve as the subject-matter expert and oversee the development, implementation, and quality assurance for In-Plan Retirement Income products by providing technical oversight and analytical support of product-related projects.  You will interact and collaborate closely with Project and Product Managers within the Product department as well as members from the following functional areas: Information Technology, Marketing, Legal, Operations, Annuity Contract Management, Product Development, Actuarial, Sales Management and other areas of the company involved with product initiatives.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Monitor and report on changes in the competitive landscape with focus on impacts to positioning of proprietary offerings.
  • Identify emerging market opportunities, consumer needs, and industry trends to develop strategies that expand into new markets and diversify the product portfolio.
  • Partner with the project manager and cross functional project team to scope and document complex business requirements related to new and in-force product initiatives requiring new/enhanced capabilities.
  • You will contribute to risk management and product governance processes by assessing potential impacts of product design, pricing strategies, and market competitiveness to support portfolio optimization and business growth. 
  • Monitor and report on emerging experience of the product suite with focus on identifying success drivers and detractors for future product change consideration.
  • You will help define and execute the short and long term product strategies by maintaining a deep understanding of market dynamics, competitor offerings, regulatory developments, and emerging industry trends.

Key skills/experience needed:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or other related field, or the equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • 8+ years of Annuity, Retirement Plan and Financial Services industry experience.
  • 5+ years of Annuity Product Development and Management experience required.
  • Experience launching products through complex, cross functional organizations.
  • Ability to think critically, analyze information, and evaluate the implications of a course of action or solution. 
  • Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to make presentations on complex information.
  • Effective communicator across organizational levels and functions.
  • FINRA S6 or S7 preferred.

Compensation

The anticipated salary range for this position is $154,000 to $179,000 at the commencement of employment.  Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. The actual compensation offered will ultimately be dependent on multiple factors, which may include the candidate’s geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. In addition, the position is eligible for a discretionary bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.

Work Location

This position can be based in Jersey City-NJ, Houston-TX, or Charlotte-NC and is subject to our hybrid working policy, which gives colleagues the benefits of working both in an office and remotely.
