LMI seeks a Warehouse Management Specialist to support a Customs and Border Protection office in the National Capital Region. As part of our high-performing team, you will augment our vital work to provide “eyes and ears” technology to protect our nation. Occasional travel may be required. This position cannot be performed remotely, with a requirement to be on site at a CBP facility near Summit Point, WV.

Responsibilities

 

The Warehouse Management Specialist will oversee all warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, storage, inventory control, asset visibility, and distribution of components, tools, and specialized equipment that support software and hardware programs. This role ensures accurate inventory management through Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), maintains accountability of government or corporate property, and automated storage systems.

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations: receiving, inspection, storage, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping of components and equipment.
  • Manage inventory accuracy using WMS and other asset tracking systems.
  • Maintain asset visibility and accountability for hardware components, tools, test equipment, and special program assets.
  • Conduct cycle counts, audits, and reconciliations to ensure 100% asset traceability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, OSHA, and organizational warehouse standards.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound logistics with suppliers, OEMs, program offices, and transportation providers.
  • Implement warehouse best practices for storage optimization, labeling, shelf-life management, and inventory rotation.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for receiving reports, shipping records, asset transfer forms, and inventory records.
  • Support software and hardware program teams by staging equipment, kits, and materials for deployments or maintenance.
  • Track and manage special tools, test equipment (STTE), and government or program-owned property.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to improve warehouse efficiency, automation, and inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain full lifecycle accountability for all warehouse assets, including hardware components, tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Ensure asset tracking via serial numbers, barcodes, RFID, or other automated identification technologies.
  • Maintain accurate property records in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Support property audits and compliance inspections.
  • Ensure proper processes for asset disposition, repair, or replacement.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

 

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a minimum Secret-level security clearance.
  • Ability to pass a CBP government background investigation, including financial, criminal, residential, educational, foreign affiliation, prohibited substance use, and employment verifications. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a suitability determination.
  • 5+ years of experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or inventory management.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and asset accountability.
  • Ability to analyze inventory data and generate operational reports.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management (APICS, CSCMP, or similar).
  • Experience supporting technical programs involving hardware, electronics, sensors, or IT equipment.
  • Experience managing government or regulated property accountability.
  • Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement training.

Target salary range: $95,000 - $140,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
