Description

Job Purpose: Provide phlebotomy care to patients in professional manner. Provide accurate documentation of all labs and test performed.

Job Duties:

  • Informs physicians of all critical labs.
  • Reports lab tests results in a timely manner to the physicians.
  • Keeps lab clean and organized.
  • Keeps lab supplies stocked.
  • Verifies correct patient by asking for date of birth prior to collecting specimen, logs the test on Lab Tracking form.
  • Completes all tests and prepare specimens to be sent to an outside lab.
  • Draws, documents and orders all labs performed.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following, and enforcing standards andprocedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.
  • Serves and protects the physician or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications.
  • Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and differentrequests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Conforms to all clinic policies outlined in the employee manual or received verbally from a supervisor.
  • Keeps all licensures current.
  • Performs any other task assigned by a supervisor.
