General Description/Primary Purpose:

The School of Engineering is seeking a 12-month, non-tenure earning, Instructor of Mechanical Engineering.  Position responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses with a 4/4/1 teaching load, collaboration with local industry and service to the School, College of Computing, Engineering and Construction and the University of North Florida.

 

Supervisor: This position will report to Dr. Alan Harris, the School of Engineering Director.

 

Working Hours:  Varies


Supervision Exercised: This is not a supervisory role


Required Licensure: N/A

 

Anticipated Start Date: The position is expected to begin on August 2, 2027.

 

Required Qualifications: The candidate must hold a Master’s Degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, or closely related field. A PhD is required to teach graduate courses.

 

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:  Candidates from all areas of mechanical engineering are encouraged to apply, with preference given to those who demonstrate a record of teaching experience or practice in their profession in a non-academic setting such as industry or government laboratories.
