Do you have experience working with Dogs and Cats in a kennel facility, veterinarian office, or animal hospital? Then we would love to meet you! The Pet Resort at Greenspring is family owned and operated and believe in a caring, supportive environment to meet the unique needs of each pet. We are a high volume, fast paced facility where our goal is to provide the highest quality and care for our pets and their owners.


The Pet Resort is looking for a dependable, animal loving Assistant Supervisor/ Team Lead (full time) to help keep our daily operations running smoothly and our pets happy, safe, and well cared for. This role is great for someone who has some experience working with animals and is ready to take on a little more responsibility. We are seeking someone with good judgement, reliability, and leadership potential.


What you will be doing:

  • Help oversee boarding, doggy daycare, and other daily care
  • Ensure pets are fed, bathed, given medications, and monitored throughout the day
  • Support and guide kennel attendants to ensure daily tasks are done
  • Train and help new team members
  • Contribute to daily operations like cleaning, feeding, reservations, etc.

Requirements

Minimum Requirements and Job Responsibilities

  • Animal Care Experience required
    • Knowledgeable of dog and cat body language and behavior
    • Ability to monitor basic medications
    • Familiar with common dog and cat ailments and their treatment
    • Understands facility operations and cleaning expectations to keep the facility running efficiently and safely for our pets, customers, and employees
  • Strong communication and supervisory skills
    • Ensure kennel attendants receive information from the previous shift and is communicated to the next shift
    • Communicate with upper management about priorities and needs
    • Oversee training of new employees and refresher training for current staff
  • Other:
    • Able to perform manual labor tasks, including ability to lift up to 50 lbs
    • Responsible, dependable, and friendly
    • Able to multi-task and be highly organized
    • Able to work some weekends and holidays
