Scope:Â
Â
To gain experience working in a dynamic food company by applying skills learned in food science. To work independently on assigned projects and tasks, as well as assisting team on additional projects.Â
Â
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Â
- Support design of new products based on targeted flavor profile, texture, color, shelf life and nutritional content while maintaining adherence to government and industry standards.Â
- Assist pilot and commercial scale up trials.Â
- Complete assigned analytical workÂ
- Maintain good records and keep lab area in a clean and organized manner. Work on independent projects proactively.Â
- Responsible for food safety and food quality of samples handled by:
- Following GMP’s, maintaining sanitary conditions, adhering to safe work practices, and ensuring that product quality is maintained.
- Reporting any conditions or practices that may adversely impact food safety, food quality or personal safety to supervisor.Â
- Maintains consistent attendance; must have flexibility to work extended hours or off shifts if required.Â
- All other duties as assigned.Â

Qualifications:
- BS or MS in Food Science required or in progress of degree at an accredited college.Â
- Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks on a daily basis.Â
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills.Â
- Excellent mathematical skills and knowledge of, or ability to learn, statistical analysis required.
- Computer literacy including competency with Microsoft Office and demonstrated ability to operate complex software programs required.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English required.
- Good work ethic, responsible individual.Â
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus.Â

- Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motionsÂ
- Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekendÂ
- Must possess visual acuity to document company recordsÂ
- Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center.
- Lifting up to 40 pounds
