This is a hybrid role that requires some on-site work (inside our Indianapolis, Indiana office). In addition to the on-site duties, there are additional responsibilities that can be completed outside of the office, resulting in this being a hybrid role.

Our Purpose is to Empower Members to Achieve Financial Success. The Card Services Associate provides entry-level, task-oriented support for the Cards & Payments team. This position assists the team by completing routine card and payment activities accurately and on time, supporting front-line staff and members, and helping keep the department's day-to-day operations running smoothly.

 

You will learn how to be the expert to best serve our members:

  • Support front-line staff with basic credit and debit cardholder questions and route more complex issues to a Specialist.
  • Speak with members to answer routine inquiries and provide status updates on card requests.
  • Assist with posting daily transaction exceptions and other routine operational tasks.
  • Provide administrative support to Card Services Specialists in their work with third-party card vendors.
  • Help document procedural changes and keep reference materials current.

  • Deliver quality member service on every routine interaction.
  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and on time to support the member and employee experience.
  • Offer suggestions and feedback to help improve card services processes.

 

You will help grow the business:

  • Assist with fraud and risk administrative tasks (CAMS, CUNA claims, documentation and follow-up) under the direction of a Specialist.
  • Monitor and work assigned Salesforce cases and departmental work queues, escalating complex issues to a Specialist.
  • Assist with maintaining and distributing routine Card Services reports.
  • Securely store and manage returned card inventory.
  • Assist Specialists with quality assurance reviews of card applications.
  • Support special projects (implementation and testing) as new card products and services are introduced.

  • Continue to develop knowledge of card services, payments operations, and industry practices.
  • Participate in appropriate learning opportunities to build expertise and grow toward a Specialist role.

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One or more years of financial institution, card services, or administrative/customer service experience preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Salesforce (or similar case management systems) preferred.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and follow-up skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
  • Ability to leverage skills, knowledge, and experience to invest in our community.
  • Ability to foster an inclusive environment that promotes belonging.
  • A focus on respect and excellent service to both external and internal (team) members.
  • A proven track record of integrity with a demonstrated ability to build trust.
