Advancement Data and Systems Manager


The Adirondack Experience (ADKX) in Blue Mountain Lake, one of upstate New York’s premier cultural institutions, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Advancement Data and Systems Manager to join our team. Located in the heart of the Adirondacks, ADKX offers a unique blend of outdoor recreation, cultural enrichment, and community engagement. This role provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and sustainability of a beloved museum that operates seasonally but maintains a dedicated year-round staff to support its mission.


The Advancement Data and Systems Manager (ADSM) will be responsible for the administration, integrity, optimization, and strategic use of the Adirondack Experience’s Altru CRM database. This position plays a vital role in supporting the museum’s fundraising, membership, and engagement efforts through effective data management and system enhancements. This is a part-time (25 hours/week), year-round, onsite or remote position. 


Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and maintain the Altru CRM database, ensuring data accuracy, security, and integrity.

- Develop and implement strategies for data collection, segmentation, and analysis to support fundraising and engagement initiatives.

- Generate reports, dashboards, and queries to provide insights for development and organizational planning.

- Collaborate with staff across departments to optimize database use and ensure data consistency.

- Provide training and support to staff and volunteers on database functions and best practices.

- Oversee data import/export processes and troubleshoot system issues as needed.

- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns, membership drives, and special events through data support.

- Stay current with CRM technology trends and recommend system improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Data Management, Information Systems, or a related field. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

- Proven experience managing CRM systems, preferably Altru or similar platforms.

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and generate actionable insights.

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and familiarity with database management tools.

- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.

- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.

- Experience in a nonprofit or cultural institution environment is preferred.
