Job DetailsJob Location: Independence, KS 67301Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: 1st ShiftJob Category: Non DOT - Safety Sensitive PositionSUMMARY:  The Maintenance Technician III is responsible for providing general building maintenance and supporting the mechanical needs of the facility to prevent unplanned downtime. Welding and fabrication skills will be utilized to manufacture frames and equipment needed.   DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Complete preventative maintenance on HVAC systems throughout the facility. Conduct troubleshooting for system failures. Complete repairs on HVAC systems as required. Ensure tools, parts, and equipment are maintained and used in compliance with safety standards. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to identify and address potential issues proactively. Perform advanced troubleshooting including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve technical issues promptly. Execute repairs and replacements of faulty components, ensuring compliance with quality standards and safety protocols. Weld and fabricate test bench frames by use of ARC and MIG welding and required fixtures. Conduct thorough inspections and tests to identify and address complex technical issues. Operate Oxygen/Acetylene and plasma torches. Conduct scheduled test bench maintenance and required repairs on equipment. Complete facility repairs as needed. Operate hand and power tools demonstrating precision, safety, and efficiency in completing tasks. Follow 6S concepts while completing task. Perform General facility maintenance. Complete basic carpentry and painting task. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including detailed logs of inspections, repairs, modifications, and parts inventory. Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and logistics teams to coordinate maintenance projects, parts procurement, and technical support activities. Replace or repair defective parts, components, or systems using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment. Complete basic carpentry and painting task. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Associate’s degree 3 years of maintenance experience OR an additional 2 years specific work experience in lieu of degree. Strong troubleshooting and technical skills. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints. Attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proficiently operate a forklift as needed, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring efficient handling of materials and equipment. Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing skills. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively as part of a team. Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and work in various environments, including standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting heavy objects. Basic computer operating skills required. Proficiency in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software. Strong knowledge of FAA regulations, maintenance manuals, and industry best practices.   PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 6+ years of facility maintenance experience. Familiarity with computerized maintenance systems (CMMs) for tracking and documenting maintenance activities.   OTHER:  The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
