This role blends facilities support, IT hardware installation, ergonomic workstation configuration, and hands on moving/assembly work. The ideal candidate has experience in office setups, exhibit hall installations, or commercial moving operations, and is comfortable working independently in fast paced, multisite environments. This position requires physical labor, customer interaction, safe driving of a box truck, and the ability to troubleshoot and install basic IT equipment. Key Responsibilities Facilities & Office Setup Perform office Moves/Adds/Changes including relocating furniture, equipment, and supplies. Assemble, install, and repair office furniture (desks, chairs, shelving, conference room setups). Configure ergonomic workstations including sit/stand desks, monitor arms, keyboard trays, and related components. Support exhibit hall or event setups, including booth assembly, staging, and equipment placement. IT & Technical Support Install and connect computers, monitors, docking stations, peripherals, and basic network hardware. Perform cable management, labeling, and workstation organization. Assist with troubleshooting simple hardware issues and coordinating with IT teams for escalations. Ensure proper handling and transport of sensitive IT equipment. Logistics & Transportation Safely operate a box truck or similar vehicle for transporting furniture, equipment, and materials between sites. This would be discussed during interview. Load/unload items using proper lifting techniques and safety protocols. Customer Service & Coordination Interact professionally with clients, building management, and internal teams. Follow daily schedules, work orders, and project plans with accuracy and accountability. Document completed work, inventory usage, and any issues encountered. Support subcontracted moving or installation projects for large multi location organizations. Qualifications Required Experience in office setup, commercial moving, exhibit hall installation, or facilities support. Ability to lift 50 to 75 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks. Basic IT installation experience (computers, monitors, docking stations, peripherals). Valid driver’s license with experience driving a box truck or similar vehicle. Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently. Professional communication and customer service skills. Preferred Experience with ergonomic workstation configuration. Familiarity with MAC (Moves/Adds/Changes) workflows in facilities or IT departments. Experience supporting multilocation corporate environments. Basic understanding of network cabling or AV equipment. Work Environment & Travel Daily travel required across DC, Virginia, and Maryland. Work performed in office buildings, warehouses, exhibit halls, and client sites. Schedule may extend beyond standard hours depending on project needs (“until done”).
