Leidos’ Defense Sensors Uncrewed Systems Integration and Test is seeking a motivated and ambitious Support Desk Engineer to join the Software, Simulation, Systems Engineering and Integration Directorate (S3I) Joint Technology Center – Systems Integration Lab (JSIL) Technology and Certification Center.
As a Support Desk Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of a dynamic engineering team that provides 24/7 support to the warfighter for critical mission systems. In this role, you’ll be trained in these critical mission systems to support the support desk role. Your expertise will help support the warfighters in the field, as you provide help desk duties for these mission critical systems.

Primary Responsibilities
Assist development teams with software release testing, to include running test cases, creating bug tickets and diagnosing issues.
Provide troubleshooting and support for mission-critical systems, focusing on Linux-based environments and containerized applications.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for supported systems, including configuration guides, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge base articles.
Perform system installation, configuration, and support of fielded systems.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of support processes and tools.
Assist the development team by completing entry-level to intermediate-level scripts and coding tasks.
Role includes providing end-user support of unique and complex systems via phone, email and Teams. Providing remote support will include assisting the user with configuration changes, patch updates, and functionality testing.
Basic QualificationsÂ
Bachelor’s degree in the STEM field with 2-4 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, candidates with 6 years of experience will be considered.
Must be an U.S. citizenship, possess and maintain a DoD Secret clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Final Secret Clearance.
Configuration support for the end user.
Remote software troubleshooting with end user.
Remote network troubleshooting with end user.
Software testing for development team.
Experience with support tools and process refinement.
Documentation of issues, resolutions, and knowledge base articles.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience and demonstrated skills in the following support this position:
Experience in Jira, Confluence, and exposure to GitLab.
Experience as system administrator.
Experience in a service desk environment to include using ticketing system to track issues and issue resolution.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong experience with troubleshooting independently.
RedHat or other Linux distro experience.
Experience with RedHat OpenShift, Kubernetes, or other containerization implementation.
Experience with TCP/IP networks.
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Strong documentation skills.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to acquire IAT Level II Certification

Pay Range:
Pay Range $69,550.00 - $125,725.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
