Overview

Responsible for patient evaluation and treatment. Incorporate knowledge in identifying patients' needs in developing and implementing multi-disciplinary treatment plans. Coordinates patient's stay from admission to discharge through collaboration with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to enhance continuity of patient care, promote cost utilization of resources and enhance patient, nurse and physician satisfaction.

Also responsible for administration of Occupational Therapy Services.

Qualifications

Education required: Must have successfully completed the National Certification/Registration exam and be licensed to practice in the State of Alabama, Must have BCLS certification upon completion of provisional period of employment, Preferable AOTA member

 

Experience: Experience preferred. However, not necessary.

Additional skills: Excellent verbal and written skills, Visual acuity and hearing required, Ability and willingness to work with all patients, to include adolescents, adult, and senior adults, Ability to manage a sometimes stressful environment, related to changing patient needs, including work with patients with acute, chronic and complex disease process, and those who are terminal, A positive attitude towards health care team members and diverse patient populations
