The candidate for this position must be able to provide flexible coverage with schedules that include 8 and 12-hour shifts depending on program needs.         What you’ll be doing: Collect vital signs, track symptoms, and assist with physical and mental health assessments. Dispense daily medications, administer injections, and audit medication logs across different assigned units. Travel and adapt quickly to various behavioral health departments, residential units, or outpatient programs based on daily staffing shortages. Coordinate patient care updates with psychiatrists, registered nurses, and case manager. Provide oversight to the Behavioral Health Tech/Behavioral Aide working with clients. Obtain information from client regarding his/her physical status. Make inquiries of client to include any changes with him/her, symptoms, etc. Assess medication side effects and/or adverse reactions. Perform medication monitoring. Perform crisis intervention techniques as needed. Interface with local laboratories to obtain test results. Answer telephones. Ensure required training is up to date. Maintain licensure in the State of Alabama. Complete and maintain documentation in a timely manner. Attend staff meetings. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and use effective listening and communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations. Ability to provide a safe environment and promote quality care through adherence to established standards of care and facility policies, procedures and protocols.
