Job Responsibilities:

  • Directs and supervises nursing personnel in accordance with department, governmental and other regulatory standards.
  • Participates in development of departmental goals and objectives.
  • Updates and maintains department’s nursing procedural manual.
  • Assists in the selection, training/orientation, and performance evaluation of nursing personnel.
  • Designs work schedules, hours and duty assignments.
  • Ensures all areas and sites are following Joint Commission and CMS standards.
  • Greets patients and prepares them for physician’s examination.  Screens patients for appropriate information.  Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance within the scope of the nursing standards.
  • Maintains and assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physicians during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Handles telephone inquiries from patients regarding test results, medications and treatment instructions as directed by the physician.
  • Arranges for hospitalization, referrals, or performance of special procedures for patients.
  • Maintains a clean, attractive work area and keeps clinical areas stocked with appropriate medical supplies.
  • Cleans and sterilizes medical instruments, surgical trays, etc.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Education: Graduate from a school of nursing as a Registered Nurse.  CPR certification required.

Experience: 2-5 years of supervisory/management experience preferred.
