Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist, the COTA provides individualized therapy to help residents improve their ability to perform daily activities, increase independence, and achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement treatment plans established by the Occupational Therapist.
- Guide residents through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve daily functioning.
- Monitor, document, and communicate resident progress.
- Educate residents and families on therapeutic techniques and safety strategies.
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
- Maintain therapy equipment and a safe treatment environment.
- Follow facility policies and applicable clinical and regulatory standards.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- Current West Virginia COTA license/certification.
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- Skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric experience preferred.
- Ability to safely assist residents with mobility and transfers and lift/move 50 pounds or more.
