Materials Supervisor

 

Purpose of the Position:

Manage the day to day operations of materials management, receiving and material delivery throughout warehouses and manufacturing plant.

 

Essential job functions:

  • Supervise department personnel including material handler(s), forklift operator(s), and receiver(s).
  • Responsible for inventory control and implementing/maintaining a cycle count program.
  • Responsible for ensuring materials are received accurately and issued to jobs electronically in the company's ERP system accordingly.
  • Responsible for timely delivery of materials throughout the facility.
  • Execute problem solving methods such as root cause analysis for receiving and/or inventory discrepancies.
  • Lead continuous improvement activities in your area of responsibilities.
  • Understand and enforce all company policies.
  • Create and enforce a safe work environment while enforcing all company safety rules.
  • Assures the department personnel are following the Safety guidelines and programs.
  • Assures warehouse compliance with ISO program through managers and supervisors.

 

Knowledge, skills and requirements:

  • Must be PC literate.
  • Knowledge of using ERP systems and MicroSoft Excel is preferred.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Must have strong problem solving skills.
  • Must be able to lead change in your area.
  • Must be able to lead area independent of constant/immediate supervision.
  • Must have 3+ years experience in materials supervision in a fast paced manufacturing environment and have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.
