Overview

The Senior Supply Chain Engineer is the on-site Product Engineer for an Oracle product at our Contract Manufacturer in Houston. The role turns product and supply-chain requirements into robust mass-production test execution and provides rapid factory support.

Org: Conducts technical assessments of supplier components at varying degrees of complexity and integration level. Works closely with design and procurement teams to execute tasks related to integrating supplier components into product development. Executes tasks within the New Product Introduction process to ensure components and supplier processes meet production requirements. Manages non-conforming components through defined processes such as sorting, labeling, and documentation. Participates in cross-functional projects by executing defined tasks aimed at enhancing product quality, reducing costs, and improving supply chain performance.

Responsibilities

  • Define mass-production test approaches for an assigned product during NPI.

  • Monitor external-manufacturer execution and adherence to Oracle production, quality, and security standards.

  • Analyze product and supply-chain information, including Linux-accessible connection, configuration, and test data.

  • Support local production, triage issues, collect evidence, and coordinate work with external-manufacturer and remote PE partners.

  • Execute supplier/component assessments, NPI tasks, audits, RCA/CAPA activities, and continuous-improvement work.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in product, manufacturing, supply-chain, test, quality, or supplier engineering.

  • Working knowledge of NPI, factory process controls, and mass-production operations.

  • Ability to analyze technical and manufacturing data; basic Linux command-line familiarity.

  • Experience collaborating with suppliers, contract manufacturers, and internal engineering or procurement partners.

  • Clear communication, independent prioritization, and sound escalation judgment in time-sensitive production environments.

Select and Qualify Components:
-Conducts technical assessments of supplier components at varying degrees of complexity and integration level including evaluating material composition, electrical characteristics, mechanical properties, and durability.
-Conducts standard or moderately complex analysis of component reliability by gathering data, conducting tests, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
-Works with Supplier Quality, Supply Chain Security, and Test Engineering teams to execute defined component qualification efforts.
-Reviews supplier manufacturing processes to understand quality assurance practices and contribute to quality assessments.
Supplier Engagement:
-Manages specific aspects of supplier relationships by providing technical input and ensuring adherence to performance and quality requirements.
-Executes assigned elements of audits of new and existing suppliers, focusing on production capabilities, process controls, and quality and security standards compliance.
-Develops technical insights on supplier processes and contributes to improvement initiatives.
-Works closely with design and procurement teams to execute tasks related to integrating supplier components into product development.
New Product Introduction:
-Executes tasks within the New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure components and supplier processes meet production requirements.
-Participates in design reviews to provide insights on component selection, manufacturability, and supplier capabilities.
-Coordinates with suppliers on specific production tasks to align with project timelines and demand forecasts.
-Assists with tasks during pilot production runs by preparing materials, collecting data, and ensuring compliance with standards.
Failure Analysis:
-Contributes to quality excursions by conducting moderately complex root cause analyses (RCA) and by recommending corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) within the supply chain.
-Performs root cause analysis tasks by executing data collection processes and collaborating with suppliers and quality teams.
-Monitors quality metrics and identifies trends that could impact component quality.
-Manages non-conforming components through defined processes such as sorting, labeling, and documentation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
-Works with Design, Operations, Quality, and Procurement teams to execute component strategy alignment with product goals.
-Acts as a liaison between suppliers and internal teams for specific issues, facilitating communication and resolution.
-Participates in cross-functional projects by executing defined tasks aimed at enhancing product quality, reducing costs, and improving supply chain performance.
-Executes tasks during design changes, process optimizations, and supply chain transitions by -contributing data and technical insights.
-Analyzes and course corrects standard problems before communicating hurdles to management.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $83,000 to $166,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.


Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
