Purpose / Summary:

 

To perform the role of the MEM Instructor by providing instruction to course candidates and to assist the MEM Lead Instructor in their duties.

Key Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Possess an in-depth knowledge of the subject in order to be able to handle questions from the students. 
  • Be able to identify students’ weaknesses and plan a strategy to assist them with it. 
  • Facilitate simulations by making and receiving radio transmissions, phone calls and verbal instruction.
  • Manage the instructor boards to facilitate emergency simulations.
  • Highlight any deficiencies of materials or equipment to the MEM Coordinator.
  • Act as Role Player, as assigned by the MEM Coordinator.
  • Complete end of course paperwork and class folder.
  • Maintenance and storage areas of course materials and simulator equipment.
  • Attend training programs, as directed by management.
  • Ensure that correct and clear standards of practice are communicated. 
  • Be impartial and promote equal opportunities amongst the students 
  • Be a good example of safe work practices. 
  • Be able to disseminate information in a correct way at lesson delivery. Should also be able to get students actively involved in the class.
  • Be prompt and dependable in accordance with scheduled obligations. 
  • To ensure that the company reputation and quality is maintained at all times.
  • Adhere to established safety procedures.

a. OPITO OIM role players

b. OPITO OIM- maintenance of equipment

c. OPITO MER tier 1 training

d. OPITO MER tier 0 training

Education

High School Diploma or GED

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of people.

Ability to become competent in the theories and practical for classes.

Work Environment

The noise level is usually loud during simulations; moderate noise level at all other times.
