Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is looking for a Desk Operations TechĀ to work Full-Time in our Surgical Services unit.Ā  This position will work 6am - 2:30pm Monday - Friday.Ā  The Desk Operations Tech participates in daily operations of managing the surgery schedule. They assist with communicating all problems associated with the schedule or control desk to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

  • Performs one or more clerical/secretarial tasks for one or more persons on the unit. Answers phone calls, routes callers, takes messages and provides routine information to callers.
  • Demonstrates telephone etiquette, communication skills, ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize appropriately.
  • Works in collaboration with the Perioperative Control Desk Liaison to coordinate the surgery case flow activities of the control desk.
  • Communicates pertinent information to multi-disciplinary departments regarding but not limited to patient care issues and changes and/or requests for changes to the daily schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining and accurately documenting blood products in the Blood Bank Log book.
  • Able to function independently through self-direction and personal accountability for work practices and responsiveness to patient, surgeon, staff and department/facility needs.
  • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Baptist Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and assists with special projects and performs other duties as directed.

  • None

Experience

  • Six (6) months (180 days) of previous clinical experience.
