JOB TITLE: Systems Engineer III

Job Summary
The Systems Engineer III supports Group 3 UAS avionics and payload integrations, including electrical systems, advanced networking, and software development throughout the complete system development lifecycle. This position works in a multidisciplinary environment and plays a key role in system integration, requirements management, project execution, and technical coordination.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Analyze, decompose, translate, and develop requirements for system modifications and integration of new payloads into existing platforms.
- Work closely with technical team leads to accomplish project objectives in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Manage and maintain technical design documentation, engineering records, and operational manuals.
- Support design quality efforts by ensuring project planning is completed with the appropriate level of detail and engineering processes are followed.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate implementation strategies, schedules, and resource allocation to support multiple concurrent objectives.
- Support system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) and 5+ years of related experience; or
- Master's degree in a STEM field and 2+ years of related experience; or
- 9+ years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- 4+ years of experience leading engineering teams supporting complex systems integration efforts.
- 2+ years of project management experience.
- Knowledge of autonomy and software systems.
- Knowledge of UAS platforms, payloads, and integrated systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience managing Agile and Waterfall development methodologies.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Project, Jira, Monday.com, and workflow automation tools such as Jira Automations and SharePoint Automations.
- Experience using version control systems such as Git, GitHub, SVN, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including network sockets, NAT, routing, and switching.
- Basic understanding of electrical engineering concepts, including wiring harness development, PCB design, and electrical circuit design.
- Technical understanding of aircraft flight controls and hands-on experience operating manned or model aircraft.
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated creative problem-solving and innovative thinking.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Experience supporting flight clearance and/or safety review processes.
- Ability to monitor emerging technologies, develop technical strategies, and contribute to technical and product roadmaps.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to traverse manufacturing, testing, and operational facilities as needed.
