About this role

Join Emplify Health by Gundersen in the Surgery department as an Environmental Assistant and help create a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment for patients, staff, and visitors. In this role, you will support daily operations through cleaning, waste disposal, and attention to detail. Your work helps advance our mission of empathy amplified by supporting excellent care in a high-acuity setting where reliability and teamwork matter every day.

Key responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with health care team members to provide waste disposal and cleaning services.

  • Demonstrate dependability, problem solving, teamwork, organization, and effective time management.

  • Report incidents, maintenance concerns, housekeeping issues, and painting issues to the Environmental Services supervisor.

  • Follow safety guidelines related to body mechanics, hazardous materials, and personal protective equipment.

  • Maintain a safe work environment.

What you will need

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.

  • No experience required but 1 year of healthcare experience is preferred.

  • Strong dependability, problem solving, teamwork, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to prioritize work and use time effectively.

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and excellent customer service.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
