Job Description Summary
              Â
The Line 2/3 Production Lead role plays an integral part in all operations for Line 2/3 which includes providing leadership, direction, and mentorship to all Line 2/3 team members. This position is responsible for all processing operations for line 2/3, including but not limited to, L3 even flows to freeze tunnel area(s). The Line 2/3 Production Lead will be expected to use all VeLOCity systems and standards to positively contribute towards our plant Compelling Business Need (CBN) goals. Assures product is produced in a food safe manner, free of foreign material. Communicates and Foreign Material findings with Team Leaders in a timely manner and works to determine source of contamination.Â
Control various operations to assure proper steps are taken to remain in compliance with USDA and FDA food laws and company policies. Â
Works as a team with other departments including Quality Assurance, Sanitation, Warehouse, Maintenance, and other Production Leads.Â
Utilizes knowledge of the function and basic operating characteristics of each piece of equipment under his/her control for proper quality and grade of the product being produced and packaged. Firm understanding of our VeLOCity systems and standards with CILs, CLs, and Defect Handling. Â
Will manage Line 2/3 under our Run to Target principles towards safety, quality loss, and Asset Utilization.Â
Attends SDS and Line 2/3 DDS Meetings, focusing on eliminating our losses and driving to root cause.Â
Validates all operator checks are completed and filed in computer per procedure.Â
Maintains a deep understanding of our VeLOCity systems and standards with CILs, CLs, and Defect Handling and shares that knowledge with their team, emphasizing the importance of the systems and standard to our continued progress and success as a Line 2/3 team. Â
Follows all Plant Safety Policies and Good Manufacturing Practices. Is actively involved in safety, participates in safety programs, engaged in safety activities, performs risk assessments and demonstrates ownership as well as leadership in personal safety and the safety of other team members.Â
Actively participates in AMD activities as scheduled to ensure that all equipment is in base condition for optimal performance of the line.Â
Perform any other duties assigned by a Team Leader.Â
Basic & Preferred Qualifications
Education/ Certifications:Â (Required & Preferred)Â
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred. Â

Skills and Experience:Â Â
Must be able to communicate, comprehend, and follow instructions in English (both written and oral). Â
1-2 years of experience in Food Manufacturing, or related field, preferred. Â
Must be able to demonstrate consistent positive leadership with all team members. Â
Possess a strong work ethic and lead by example. Â
Demonstrated ability to think critically, using troubleshooting skills to solve problems.Â
Able to build a self-sustaining team through positive leadership and cohesive teamwork.Â
Basic understanding and proficiency in PC skills; Windows, Word, and Excel.Â
Practice proper body mechanics and safe lifting techniques.Â

Physical Environment/Demands:Â
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.  Â
Exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.Â
Ability to do repetitious arm, wrist and hand movements required for job actions and procedures.  Â
Must be able to work with hands and arms overhead, and to work in or under the equipment.  Â
Requires manual dexterity, overall coordination and good balance to work both at ground level and in high places to perform job duties.  Ability to operate work related equipment.Â
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Â
