All employees subject to an annual performance evaluation based on the duties and responsibilities of this position.聽 PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Usual working space is a well-ventilated area. Requires standing, walking, turning, bending, stooping, and lifting. Clear speech to communicate effectively with customers (e.g. patients, families, and other team members). Fine and gross motor skills. Environment may be stressful at times, therefore ability to work under stressful conditions is necessary. Lifting up to 50 lbs may be required, anything over 50 lbs should be a team lift or with the use of a lifting aid. Also subject to bloodborne pathogens at all times in patient care. May have occasional exposure to radiation during radiology procedures and to dangerous chemicals (cleaning and disinfecting agents). As a condition of employment, employees must adhere to: 路 OCH Code of Conduct 路 OCH Policies and Procedures 路 Scope of Practice within License/Certification. 路 HIPAA and HIPAA Security Confidentiality Standards 路 Workplace Safety 路 Mandatory Training 路 Annual Compliance Education ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:聽 Following the laboratory鈥檚 procedures for specimen collection, handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records of patient results. Chemistry without assay ranges or critical values. Coagulation studies without assay ranges or critical values. Hematology without manual differential or critical values. Urinalysis without microscopic exams. Sed-rates, D-Dimers, BNP, triage urine tox screens, and all waived tests. Performs proficiency testing samples in the same manner as patient specimens. Adhering to the laboratory鈥檚 Quality Control policies and documenting all Quality Control activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and instrument maintenance, under the supervision of an MLT or MT. Following the laboratory鈥檚 policies, including taking and documenting corrective actions, whenever test systems are not within the laboratory鈥檚 established acceptable levels of performance. Being able to identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or test result reporting and correcting the problem or notifying the appropriate supervisor Documenting all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory鈥檚 established performance specifications. If required by route of qualification, perform moderate complexity testing only under the on-site direct supervision of an MLT or MT.
