Accounting Supervisor

Are you an experienced accounting professional who enjoys both getting the numbers right and helping a team succeed?

ProFast is looking for an Accounting Supervisor to join our Finance team in Harrisburg. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations while helping ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and an accounting team that works effectively together.

You'll work closely with our Director of Finance and company leadership while supervising and developing members of the accounting team. From AP and AR to month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, you'll have broad visibility into the business and an opportunity to improve both the numbers and the processes behind them.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable operations
  • Manage cash activity, bank accounts, loan payments, and general ledger balances
  • Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
  • Prepare and review reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals
  • Analyze financial results against budget, forecast, prior year, and actual performance
  • Prepare financial reports, metrics, dashboards, and analyses for management
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Supervise, coach, and develop accounting team members
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and within established deadlines
  • Cross-train team members to strengthen department flexibility and continuity
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, efficiency, and internal controls

Our ideal candidate has:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP/accounting systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
