Position Summary
Leonhardt Manufacturing is seeking a Customer Project Coordinator to manage the day-to-day coordination of a key customer account.
This person will serve as the customer's primary point of contact while working closely with our internal teams to keep orders moving, track commitments, and make sure the customer receives timely and accurate information.
This is not an engineering role. The focus is customer communication, organization, tracking, and follow-through.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for the assigned customer.
- Track purchase orders, quantities, due dates, and delivery requirements.
- Maintain an accurate picture of what is currently in production, what has shipped, and what remains open.
- Track packing slips, shipments, partial shipments, and remaining quantities.
- Follow up internally with Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Quality, and Shipping to keep orders moving.
- Provide regular order and delivery updates to the customer.
- Identify potential delays or issues and escalate them internally before they impact customer commitments.
- Coordinate customer questions and requests with the appropriate internal team.
- Track customer approvals, changes, documentation, and outstanding action items.
- Maintain organized records of customer orders, communications, and shipments.
- Participate in internal production meetings as needed and follow up on open items.
- Assist with resolving day-to-day issues affecting the customer's orders.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate degree in business, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related field preferred but not required.
- 2+ years of experience in customer service, order management, project coordination, manufacturing, or a related role preferred.
- Relevant manufacturing or customer account experience may be considered in place of formal education.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain a professional working relationship with the customer.
- Comfortable following up with multiple internal departments to get answers and keep orders moving.
- Ability to manage multiple orders, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
- ERP/MRP experience is a plus.
- Manufacturing experience is preferred.
Travel Requirements
- Limited travel may be required to the assigned customer's facility for meetings, project coordination, or production-related matters.
- Travel is expected to be occasional and primarily within the local/regional area.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed required.
What Success Looks Like
The customer has one reliable point of contact who knows the status of their orders and can get answers quickly. Internally, open items are actively followed up on, shipments and quantities are accurately tracked, and potential problems are identified before they become customer issues.
This position is responsible for coordination and customer communication and does not have responsibility for engineering or technical design decisions.
