POSITION SUMMARY
The HR Generalist provides broad-based support across the full range of human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day HR matters and helps ensure consistent, compliant, and effective HR practices across the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage full-cycle recruitment, including posting requisitions, screening candidates, coordinating interviews, and extending offers
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization
- Serve as a first point of contact for employee relations issues, escalating and documenting matters as appropriate
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and vendor coordination
- Support performance management processes, including annual reviews, goal setting, and performance improvement plans
- Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws (e.g., FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, OSHA)
- Administer leave of absence programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and workers' compensation claims
- Assist in the development, communication, and administration of HR policies and the employee handbook
- Coordinate training and development initiatives to support employee growth and organizational needs
- Prepare and analyze HR metrics and reports (e.g., turnover, headcount, time-to-fill) to support data-driven decision-making
- Support compensation administration, including job documentation and pay-practice compliance
- Assist with unemployment claims, workplace investigations, and other HR compliance activities
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2–4 years of progressive HR generalist experienceÂ
- Working knowledge of employment and labor law, including FMLA, ADA, FLSA, EEO, and OSHA requirements
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms; Paylocity preferredÂ
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Sound judgment and problem-solving ability, with a demonstrated capacity to manage competing priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Office environment with regular manufacturing floor presence.
