POSITION SUMMARY:
The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Sanitation Team assigned to either 1st or 2nd shift. Responsible for ensuring staff meets plant environment and mandatory sanitation requirements for machinery, equipment and facilities in accordance with the company's policies, OSHA regulations and applicable laws. Ensure Food Safety System are adhered to in all processes. Includes assigning staff to clean/sanitize plant and production equipment cleaning, chemical handling, building and grounds upkeep.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote a "safety first" culture within the Sanitation and all other departments.
- Recommend changes in equipment, plant layout, lighting, ventilation, or work practices to improve sanitation standards and effectiveness of process.
- Maintain and keep updated on all chemical usage procedures.
- Compile required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies.
- Regularly audit sanitation processes to ensure compliance.
- Partner with production regarding scheduling of staff to meet sanitation schedules.
- Recommend measures to continuously improve sanitation methods, equipment performance and quality.
- Provide supervision of assigned employees in scheduling, time off requests and daily activities, ensure effective hiring selection, recognition, feedback and performance management consulting with Sanitation Manager as needed.
- Oversee training of employees in regard to sanitation standards, GMPs, SSOPs and objectives.
- Ensure department employees are trained to perform their assigned duties and have received applicable certifications.
- Oversee and/or conduct regular inspection of equipment for wear and for conformance to specifications.
- Inspect job sites to determine the extent of maintenance or repairs needed.
- Recommend or initiate personnel actions, such as promotions, transfers, or disciplinary measures.
- Participate on Continuous Improvement Teams and Lean initiatives.
- Operate a forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, tractor, ride on floor sweeper, and floor scrubber as assigned.
- Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- BA/BS Degree preferably in Business, Ag Business, Food Science and or combination of education and/or experience.
- Three years Supervisory or Lead experience in Sanitation processes and procedures.
- Experience in Lean and continuous improvement a plus.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
- Forklift, scissor lift, boom lift, tractor, experience required.
- Computer Proficiency: In MS Office Suite, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, walk, stand for periods of time at workstation, climb stairs, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and depth perception. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by the company. Primary work environment will be in an office setting. Some work may include being inside the plant manufacturing environment which may include high levels of noise.
