We are seeking a Loan Processor to guide loan files from application to close by working closely with borrowers, loan officers, underwriters, and third parties; ensure efficiency and accuracy by gathering and verifying financial documentation for compliance with lending regulations, proactively resolve workflow delays, and assist in moving loans through approval and closing.

This is an on-site position in Jewett City, CT. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform any function necessary, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of customer service and to support, create and develop a harmonious work environment.
  • Review all types of retail loan applications and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy. Verify borrower information, including employment, income, credit history, and assets. Assemble complete, well-documented loan files for submission to underwriters or third-party originator by anticipating conditions to maximize efficiency Communicate with borrowers, loan officers, and underwriters to gather additional information or clarify discrepancies.
  • Electronically submit reviewed loan packages to correspondent lenders and brokers through the appropriate loan portals. Proactively monitor incoming loan conditions and track any additional documentation requested by third party vendors. Coordinate directly with loan officers to ensure all required documentation is collected efficiently to keep the file moving forward.
  • Process rate lock requests based on established guidelines. 
  • Responsible for the preparation of early disclosures within the timelines established to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including TILA and Fair Housing regulations. 
  • Maintain active pipeline management by using reports and tracking tools to identify aging files, outstanding conditions, and potential workflow constraints while prioritizing specific files to all tasks meet excepted turn times. 
  • Order flood certifications, appraisals, and PMI quotes. Coordinate with title companies, appraisers, and other third parties to obtain all necessary documentation. Actively monitor these requests to ensure timely receipt. 
  • Prepare and provide via email, loan portal or mail residential mortgage, home equity lines of credit and secured installment loan commitment letters when final approval is issued.
  • Ensure data within the loan origination system is accurate prior to scheduling loan closings and preparing the closing packages. 
  • Prepare the adverse action notices for an incomplete or a denied loan. Ensure that a secondary review is conducted on all denied loans.
  • Check HMDA input for accuracy.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with the Bank’s policies and procedures, and regulatory compliance. Demonstrate regular and predictable on-site attendance.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of clerical experience. Must be very detail oriented, demonstrate strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills. Prior loan processing experience and knowledge of Bank loan products and processes preferred. Must be proficient in MS Office applications.

SCHEDULE:

  • Full-Time 
  • 37.5 hours/week
  • Monday through Friday 8am – 4pm
