Job Title: Senior Buyer PlannerJob Description

A manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Buyer to lead purchasing activities. This unique role primarily involves strategic buying and supplier management, complemented by overseeing SAP material master and planning strategy management. The ideal candidate will possess significant purchasing experience managing annual spends of $50M-$100M+, alongside the capability to configure material planning parameters within SAP.

Responsibilities
  • Manage purchasing activities and supplier relationships for a large manufacturing operation.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of buyers.
  • Configure and maintain SAP material master data and planning parameters.
  • Establish planning strategies, lead times, and MRP settings that support purchasing and replenishment objectives.
  • Partner with Engineering, Planning, and Operations on new part introductions and material setup.
  • Participate in SIOP meetings, supply reviews, and AOP planning discussions.
  • Identify material shortages, supplier risks, and inventory opportunities.
  • Support supplier scheduling, A/P issue resolution, and capital equipment purchasing activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives.
Essential Skills
  • 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment (consideration given for less with the right experience).
  • Experience managing $50M-$100M+ in annual purchasing spend.
  • Material master setup and planning strategies, preferably within SAP.
  • Understanding of MRP, purchasing signals, planned orders, and replenishment processes.
  • Experience with SIOP and supply chain planning processes.
  • Familiarity with supplier schedules and inventory management.
  • Accounts Payable resolution experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience with capital equipment purchasing agreements.
  • Continuous improvement and quality management experience.
Work Environment

This position is based within an office setting at a manufacturing plant.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Grenada, MS.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $100000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
